God As A Parent

We went fishing today to the local fishing spot. As you can see from the picture my daughter is crawling on the ground like a dog. She loves to pretend that she is a kitty or a puppy. At two, the world is her playground and she has no care in the world.
If you look closely at the picture you will also notice a small gravel road/driveway right behind them.
As she continued her carefree world, my daughter turned around and started heading back towards that gravel driveway meowing away as I followed close by. Being a mom, I could hear the roar of a vehicle coming from the distance. I looked over my shoulder in time to see the tractor pulling a trailer coming down the gravel road. I had plenty of time to talk to my daughter about what was happening. I explained to her to stop, as something big was coming. She heeded my warning and got up and listened and watched as the tractor went by us and we waved.
An overwhelming feeling came over me as God showed me that God is also our parent. He is here protecting us as we go. The bible states that we should be like children and rely on Him. So my daughter could represent us, going about in a carefree life while God is the parent watching us close by and He always sees what is about to come…the tractor aka COVID19. If we would listen, heed, and obey he is able to protect us. If my daughter would have chosen to not listen and run away from me, it could have been very ugly. Ultimately it is our choice what we are going to do, just like any child…free will. However, just like any parent, God wants the best for us. What are you going to choose? Carefree like my daughter, or run?
