Purpose for Struggles and Strengths

When I first thought about writing Struggles and Strengths series I really had no idea what the intention was, the feeling was just so heavy on my heart to write a book about my experiences. At the time I felt so alone, in despair, and no one seemed to understand what I had gone through and what I was currently experiencing. My life had completely transformed out of what I had originally dreamed. I had adopted three school age children, became an instant mom, went through a divorce, mental health with myself and my children, and I felt like a victim with self loathing.

I changed my life trajectory to a new mindset, new health, and a new outlook that life is happening for me not to me. Once I started this healing I noticed I wasn’t ever alone. Others are suffering, scared, also thinking that they are alone. I want to help others realize that we are social creatures who need community, that you can recognize your negative feelings as just feelings and take back control of your life.

The pandemic is a reminder that we aren’t in control. It’s ok to be living in fear. It’s scary realizing that we don’t have control over everything, it doesn’t make your feeling bad or wrong. It’s time to say hello to your feelings, acknowledge that they are there. Give yourself grace because we are human. The difference is noticing when you are reactive verses responding. It is an invitation for you to take responsibility for being the creator of your life. Stop and ask yourself, “Is this something I can control?”

The sole purpose of Struggles and Strengths series is to share my story, my vulnerability, my mistakes to show that I am human. I want to show how I overcome daily and continually contend to have control over my life, my health, so that life is happening for me. This series will show others how to do the same and make their dreams a reality.

Sharing is Caring!
